We will follow the river for over 250 km moving of rafts. Kara River gave its name to the Kara Sea into which it flows. First, we shall pass the foothills of the Ural Mountains, and then we shall move forward with the tundra, a marshy plain, all around. At some point, we shall pass under a bridge which is not shown on any map.

Mean velocity of river flow is 1.7 m/s

The closer to the estuary, the deeper is the river and the wider its watercourse. Final section of the rafting trip to Ust-Kara settlement is on or around the Kara Gulf. Depending on the wind direction, we shall either traverse a dozen remaining kilometers on the water or trek on land putting rafts into our backpacks.

Rafting duration: 7-8 days.
