Armenia is a land with a history boasting thousands of years, with a rich culture and striking natural wonders. Our hiking route will take us across the central part of the ancient country.
Garni – Geghama – Sevan is a unique route, replete with both architectural landmarks and wonders of nature. Our journey starts in the Garni gorge where we shall experience an extraordinarily interesting excursion: we shall visit “Symphony of the Stones”, Ghegard monastery and a classical Hellenistic temple. After that we shall climb to the volcanic Geghama highland. We shall experience Martian sunsets and dawns, moonlike landscape vistas, snow-covered volcanoes and crater lakes. Then we shall descend towards the largest lake in Transcaucasia: Sevan which is also called “Armenian Sea”.

After our group meets in Yerevan we shall proceed to Garni where we shall admire the reconstructed classical Hellenistic temple built in the 1st century AD and the Ghegard monastery (8th century AD).

From the Garni Gorge we shall start our ascent on the Geghama highland.
On the way up we shall visit the ruins of the Havuts Tar (All Savior) monastery.
К вечеру выходим к озеру ВишапаЛич, рядом с которым расположены загадочные каменные стелы, именуемые "зубами дракона".
Starting from lake Vishapalich we shall hike up to the main summits of the Geghama highland.
Towards the evening we shall arrive at the foot of Azhdahak volcano, Armenia’s third tallest mountain.
We shall climb Azhdahak volcano, from the elevation of 3200 meters above sea level to 3598 meters. There is a lake in the crater of the volcano where one can go for a swim.
After the descent we shall head toward Kanchgyol lake.
From Kanchgyol lake we shall proceed across Sevkatar range, between volcanoes Aknasar and Shishtepe.
We shall start our descent from the highland.
Walking through the summer camps of the Yazidi shepherds, we shall descend to lake Sevan or “Armenian Sea”, as it is otherwise known
.On the lake shore we shall set up our camp for the night and prepare our special, festive dinner.
Before noon we shall visit Sevanavank, one of Armenia’s most ancient monasteries.
In the afternoon we shall return to Yerevan.
